s. 65 Første fund af atlantisk trommefisk (Micropogonias undulatus) i danske farvande
Henrik Carl & Peter Rask Møller
Summary:
First catch of Atlantic croaker (Micropogonias undulatus) in Danish waters The National Danish Fish Atlas Project is currently mapping the detailed distribution of all the marine fishes in Danish waters. In August 2010, a frozen specimen of what was thought to be a Meagre (Argyrosomus regius), was donated to the Atlas. The specimen was caught just north of Skagen at c. 90 m in a Norway lobster trawl on December 26th 2008. In 2015 however, a more careful examination revealed that the 25 cm long specimen actually belonged to another member of the Sciaenid family i.e. Atlantic croaker Micropogonias undulatus, not previously reported from Danish waters. The identification was backed up with x-ray count of fin-rays and vertebrae (table 1), and the specimen is now stored in the fish collection at the National History Museum of Denmark
